Stop. And then begin.

Are you wrestling with a decision? Struggling with discernment? Worrying over a circumstance? Stop.

Stop wrestling and stop struggling and stop worrying. Begin to pursue His presence right now for peace and wisdom and contentment in tomorrow.

Are you considering adoption but are overwhelmed by the task and so you ignore the need? Are you concerned about women trapped as slaves to sex but are at a loss of how to help and so you do nothing? Does your heart ache for the millions that have been and will be aborted but you haven't put action to your cries? Stop.

Stop wondering and waiting and hoping it gets better. Begin to pray, begin give your time, begin to give your energy, and begin to give your resources. It's impossible to give sacrificial amounts of your time and money without your heart becoming deeply engaged.

Have you promised to use a gentler voice with your kids - after they learn to obey? Have you committed to serve your husband with grace - after he begins to help carry more of the load at home? Have you told yourself you're done shopping frivolously - after you enjoy one last sale? Stop.

Stop choosing to do tomorrow what you should be doing today. Begin to seek Him for patience and humility and self-control in the here-and-now. God has gifted you with what you need for today and will carry you through tomorrow when it comes.

God's will for your life? For my life? Obedience. 

Obedience without regard for the pressures from family, friends, finances, and circumstances. Obedience that looks to Him and forgets what's behind. Obedience that starts today and continues tomorrow.
