Scorcher

It's been hot. Really hot. And for this pregnant mama that is prone to enormous fingers and ankles due to swelling, it's been really, really hot.

Unfortunately, sitting inside on top of the air conditioner vent isn't an option when I have two toddlers who want to play and be moving - all the time.

Thankfully, Carowinds is just around the corner and the boys enjoy swimming and splashing. It always takes them a while to get used to the spraying fountains. When they can control the water, they think it's fun to dump buckets of it on their head. But, when they don't know when or where the water will come from, it scares them to get sprayed.

I hate to say it, but even though the water park and other pools are within an arms reach, trudging to the pool with all our gear when it's 95+ degrees sometimes seems like too much work. (Did I really just say that?! Wow, I am one lazy person.)

I discovered a bag of old Chuck E Cheese coins in the pantry the other day, so this morning the boys and I spent a couple of hours playing games and riding rides. Thankfully there were no birthday parties or day care groups there so the place was quiet. And air conditioned. And I wasn't lugging a beach bag.

I would also like to publicly announce that I'm one amazing ski ball champion. I dare you to take me on.
