The Simple Things

If you haven't yet heard, Baby #3 is a girl. Although, I'm not really sure how you could not have heard - thanks to the many screams, FB posts, email exchanges, and phone messages.

My ultrasound was on Tuesday afternoon. That evening, Grady and I got together for our weekly Bible study with our College Group from church. I was greeted by a darling sweetheart with a pink envelope.

Me: "What's this for?"
Her: "Just open it and see!" (Happy smirk on her face.)
Me: "Oh my word! Oh my word! I love it! Thank you, thank you, thank you...!" (Insert several screams and hugs and laughs.)

In the span of less than four hours since she found out I was having a girl, she ran to the store, picked up a Baby Girl Congrats card and bought some hair bows.

*Gasp!* Pink! Hair bows! These are two things that haven't been in my realm of reality yet.

I'm pretty sure this Baby Girl will be born bald, but that's not the point. (I'll find a way to stick those bows on her head one way or the other!) I was simply overwhelmed by the kind thoughtfulness of a college student. Taking the time and spending the money on such short notice just to let me know she cared.

Wow. This Simple Thing will always be remembered: My very first Baby Girl gift. Ever!

  4. Awwww - soooo cute! Hope she has hair to wear them - there is such a thing as "hair glue" for those bows to stick on their heads (so my mom tells me b/c I had NO hair until I was 3) -love that you have some bows - I'm sure you'll have many more to come - AND I'm sure your boys will find some good use for all the ponytail holders & clips - they can make for some good inventions and boy toys as well!!
