Small Part - Big Progress

Remember when making eye contact with adults was so hard? I know, it still is sometimes, but nothing like it used to be.
Remember when talking with others sometimes got frustrating because you had a wonderful thought in your mind but couldn't seem to make the words get to your tongue and out your mouth? I know, it's still a small challenge, but not like it used to be.
Remember when practicing your "R's" and "Th's" and "L's" was so difficult and so boring and so "not very much fun to do"? I know, you don't always get the right sound off your tongue, but WOW your hard work and disciplined practice is paying off!
Grady Lee, you asked your teacher for a part in music program for a local nursing home. You asked to say something. You asked to say something in front of people.
And then, because you realized that wasn't such a big deal, you asked if you could do it again in front of all the ladies at church. You asked to say something. You asked to say something in front of people and into a microphone.
You decided that even though you still struggle with some sounds, and even though you still stutter slightly sometimes, that you wanted to have a part in the program. Your practice is paying off. Your confidence is exploding. Your faith in God answering your prayers is developing. And I couldn't be more proud of you, Buddy.

Your simple part may have been a short 10 seconds, but it was a loud 10 seconds of beauty in Mom's ears.
