Because You Know and Love Jesus

Because you know and love Jesus, our family is secure. We know that you are here to stay - forever - until God calls you home. We know that you won't leave or quit or get lazy because you've promised, in the face of God, to love and lead us. 

We know that you are intentionally investing in us so that we reflect more of Jesus and develop eternal-focused passions. We know that you are willing to work hard, sacrifice significantly, love deeply, forgive continually, and lead faithfully. 

We know you aren't going anywhere without us or doing anything to hurt us, because we know you know and love Jesus. And men who know and love Jesus can't help but know and love their families.

Because you know and love Jesus, our family is blessed. We know that you are seeking God's will and desiring to lead us closer to Him.

We know that you are passionate about knowing and memorizing God's Word so that you can make confident decisions for us, relate to us with pure intention, and teach us the value of and safety of knowing absolute truth.

We know that you will walk away from career opportunity for the purpose of better serving your family, because we've seen you do it. We know that you will say no to us, even when it's hard, if you believe it's the best thing for us.

We know you aren't making decisions in a vacuum or following personal ambition, because we know you know and love Jesus. And men who know and love Jesus can't help but know and love their families.

Because you know and love Jesus, I knew you were God's man for me. I knew this the moment I realized you loved Him more than you could ever love me. Over the years, you have faithfully offered tenderness, security, forgiveness, wisdom, and discernment. You are God's man, on loan to me, for the joy and privilege of knowing, loving, and serving.
