Pumpkins and Interviews... But Not Together

The conversation in this post didn't actually happen during the pictures of this post. I mean, the words and the pictures won't match. I mean, oh never mind. You'll see. I just kind of figured that the process of digging pumpkin guts out doesn't change much year to year, so rather than narrate the obvious I'm documenting a casual interview the boys and I had the other day. Got it?

Question: What's your favorite thing to do with Dad?
Grady Lee: "Wrestle!"
Micah: "Wrestle! And, mow the lawn."

Question: What's your favorite thing to do with Mom?
Grady Lee: "Run errands."
Micah: "Go to Harris Teeter."
(Note the lack of an exclamation point. They didn't use the same excitement when deciding their favorite thing to do with me.)

Question: What's your favorite animal?
Grady Lee: "A cheetah because they are the fastest animal in the whole wide world!"
Micah: "Cows because they give us milk." (Let me mention that the kid doesn't even like to drink milk.)

Question: What's your favorite Bible story?
Grady Lee: "Samson because he had big muscles and was very, very, very strong."
Micah: "Moses because he talked to a bush on fire and didn't get burned."

Question: What's your favorite food to eat?
Grady Lee: "All the fruits."
Micah: "Oatmeal and yogurt and pizza and macaroni and cheese and..." (I cut him off after the tenth item he listed.)

Question: What is your favorite sport to play?
Grady Lee: "Soccer! And sometimes bike riding."
Micah: "Metal bat baseball!" (As opposed to plastic-Little-Tikes-bat baseball.)

Question: What's your favorite thing to learn in school?
Grady Lee: "Phonics because now I can read." (Or so he thinks.)
Micah: "Numbers because I want to count to a million and hundred!"

Question: What's your favorite vacation we've taken?
Grady Lee: "Going to the beach this summer."
Micah: "Going to the beach this summer."

I love my little men. I love talking with them. I love listening to them talk. Thanks for allowing me the space to remember their simple favorites.
