My Micah Man

Guess who is  now a tough-stuff THREE year old? My goodness... how did my little guy go from a teeny-tiny, precious and cuddy little thing, to a rumble-tumble little man?
Micah, you were my special Christmas gift three years ago. I thought for sure you were going to come Christmas Eve, but you held out and waited until the 27th when Grandpa and Grandma could actually be here to help.

You were my precious buddy from the first time I laid my anesthesia-fogged eyes on you. Your perfect face stole my heart.
Daddy loved the idea of having two little men so close in age. He held you during a lot of Sunday afternoon  football and basketball games. Something about "influencing you from an early age..."
Grady Lee, at only 18 months, did a great job of becoming a big brother. He was eager to hold and play with you, but I knew I couldn't take my eyes off him for a second when you were close by!
You have always been easy-going - content to just watch and take in all that happens around you. This was a far-cry from Grady Lee's temperament so, at first, I was concerned something was wrong with you since you were so quiet and laid back!
Nothing thrills my heart more than seeing my three men laugh and play together. I am one lucky - no- blessed lady.
Because I have nine million pictures to choose from, I've picked just a few that make me smile. It's hard to remember you being so small and bald, but at the same time, it was just yesterday that I was coming home with my little eight pounder for the first time!

You always have been, and probably always will be a messy eater.

I will never, ever, ever get tired of hearing you laugh! It's contagious.
You are always eager to help. Hardly a day goes by that you don't ask if you can vacuum, dust, or help me cook. I love my little side-kick for chores!
I still melt when I look at this cute little body. Wide eyes. Bald head. Wobbly legs. Love it, love it, love it!
From early on, you showed a strong sense of independence. Eager to make choices and do things yourself. I'm both happy about that and extremely nervous about that!
It's a good thing we live in the South, because the handful of times you've been in snow you have not liked it. I think you are a beach bum and not a snow bunny.
How many three year olds can boast that they've broken a leg, gotten stitches, smashed a finger and lost a nail, or gotten two black eyes?! Yup, you keep me on my toes. And you keep Urgent Care as a speed dial option on my phone.
You love to be outside... all the time. The park, the lake, the backyard - anywhere you can run and jump and throw and get dirty.
At only three, you have shown that you walk to the beat of your own drum! You are stubborn. You are free-spirited. You are my buddy who makes me laugh and cry at the same time.
And now, instead of being the little brother, you are the big brother! You jumped into this important role with excitement and curiosity. I'll admit, I thought it would be a hard adjustment for you to get used to not being the baby anymore. But you've been a great big helper and are always anxious to tickle or hold your sister.
Always, always, always remember... Mom loves you lots and lots, but Jesus loves you the most! I'm so happy you are my special buddy and I pray your heart is shaped to love Jesus and follow him.
