The Simple Things

Alright, so I had a different Simple Thing in mind for this week, but I can't pass up another Simple Thing that unexpectedly came this week. I know, I know, the past few Simple Things have all been about things I've received. I promise, though, that's not generally the intent! It's just that as of late, several special people have sent or delivered several special things... several Simple Things.

A package arrived earlier this week - covered in fun scribbles from the hands of a toddler. Love getting mail that has been "loved on." My sister-in-law, also named Sarah Peeler (seriously, how fun is that?!) and her girls, put a fun package together for us.

Inside I found a birthday gift for me and a couple of Easter gifts for my boys. My boys were over the moon for the airplanes and rubber balls they got. The airplanes make screeching noises when raced, so you can sure bet that's been the continual sound in our home ever since they arrived. And, those crazy rubber balls have managed to roll under every hard-to-reach place: fridge, stove, washing machine, TV center, etc. But, no fears! A skinny dust mop to the rescue.

And for my birthday gift? A darling, snazzy maternity top. I'm not joking when I say that of the very few maternity shirts I own, the only cute ones worth wearing are from Sarah. She has an eye for all things cute... even when it means maternity (which, I'll be honest, is not typically cute).

To more than top it off, she included a gift card to a local pizza place so that we can enjoy dinner out some night when I'm not up for cooking. (Good grief, I'm kind of getting choked up remembering her sweet thoughtfulness.)

So, what about you... what Simple Thing touched your heart this week?

  1. That is seriously one CUTE top! Do they make it non-maternity? And what a fun care package! I am thinking now, why don't I do stuff like that more often...send random acts of kindness & love to others...
My simple thing this week...sunshine! Did you go outside today? (Of course that's a rhetorical question, I know you did because I know this weather is why you HEART North Carolina!)
