I Did, Still Do, and Always Will

I, Grady, take you, Sarah, to be my wedded wife. Today, as we stand before God and all that are present, I promise my life to you. Just as Jesus Christ loves us, so will I, by his strength, seek to love you. In sickness or health, joys or trials, wealth or poverty, I vow to put your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being before my own. Today I give myself to be faithful to you for the rest of my life and to protect you from harm, both physically and spiritually. Sarah, I will not divorce you. I am twenty-two years old and I will love you for the rest of my life.

I, Sarah, take you, Grady, to be my wedded husband. Today, as we stand before God and all that are present, I commit myself to you. Willingly, I submit myself to your leadership, authority, and wisdom. With Christ controlling my life, I will serve, respect, and love you in sickness or health, joys or trials, wealth or poverty. Grady, I will not divorce you. I am twenty-two years old and I will love you for the rest of my life.

Grady, thank you for the privilege to stand here today, and in all days to come, and call you my husband. Truly, gaining the title of wife is such an honor! Thank you that long before you even knew me, you determined in your heart that you wanted God's best and weren't willing to compromise for anything less. Thank you for noticing me - a confused girl who needed you love - and for extending true respect and tenderness to me. Thank you for taking time to patiently show me I can trust you completely, rest in you with confidence, and love you openly. Thank you for asking me to join you for the rest of your life. I can't imagine my tomorrow without you in it, and I thank you that I don't have to. I love you so much.

(Nine years and counting...!)
