Thanksgiving Week: Family

What greater blessing to give thanks for at a family gathering than the family and the gathering?
~Robert Brault
Family faces are magic mirrors. Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present, and future.
 ~Gail Lumet Buckley
If the family were a fruit, it would be an orange - a circle of sections, held together but separable -
each segment distinct. ~Letty Cottin Pogrebin
As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live.
 ~Pope John Paul II
The family. We [are] a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it, and in the same instant loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that [binds] us all together. ~Erma Bombeck
Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts.
~Author Unknown
You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.
 ~Desomnd Tutu
A week with Nana, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Staying in another home. Eating from another kitchen. Sleeping on other beds. Using another shower. Playing with other toys. Learning to share those toys. Late nights and early mornings.
Good thing this happened in the context of family or we may have overstayed our welcome!
