Easter Hope

Some holiday traditions are fun. They create memories and facilitate family togetherness. But traditions don't give security, hope, or direction. Only God's Truth can do that.

"See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ." Colossians 2:8

Because of Easter we have Truth. And that Truth offers eternal life. Only God's Son, Jesus, could do that.

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.'" John 11:25-26

Because of Jesus, we have joy. We have reason to sing, reason to praise, reason to hope, reason to face today.


"And the ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away." Isaiah 35:10

Because of Easter's joy, we have hope. Not a wishful kind of thinking, but a peace-of-mind-because-I-know-Whom-I-have believed.


"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." Romans 5:1-5

On the altar of your praise, let there be no higher name.

Jesus, Son of God.

You laid down your perfect life, You are the sacrifice.
