Another Month Older

Another month older and another month wiser. In less than two weeks, you went from standing and taking a couple of steps, to walking everywhere all the time. There's no going back now - crawling days are behind you!
You say "Mama," "Dada," "uh-oh!" and "ah dun" (all done). You stick your index finger up and point at things. All the time. Always wanting everyone else around you to stop and stare at the same thing that has momentarily got your attention.
You are usually content to play by yourself, but if you hear your brothers nearby you like to be close to them. When I'm trying to get something done and put you in your room to play, I can return in a few minutes and count on you sitting in your doll cradle looking at books. So cute to see. And, being a bookworm myself, I couldn't be more proud.
You have six teeth, wisps of fuzzy hair (that I think almost merits a trim), and feet that are longer and thinner than any others I've seen. You wear a size three diaper, a size three shoe, and 9-12 month clothes. You are almost 19 pounds, still napping twice a day, and sleeping from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. No one else cares about this, but I know I'll look back in several years and want to remember these things!
You discovered a set of plastic measuring spoons and hardly set them down. They are, for whatever reason, your favorite toy. And also a red plastic hammer, but that's harder for you to keep since your brothers are quick to take it away when they see you with it.
If someone is sitting on the floor, you will stop what you're doing and hightail it to their lap. Once there, you turn around, back up, and plop your diaper-padded behind down. Apparently you need a throne because apparently you think you are royalty because apparently there are people in this household that treat you as such. I think you need a sister.
Like your brothers, you would spend all day outside if I let you. The grass, the sand, flowers and leaves, you like touching it all. Curious to explore and usually curious to taste so I've got to be on my toes!
You received lots of love and spoiling this month after enjoying four weekends with out-of-state family visiting. Like usual, you rolled with the flow and were eager to go to anyone so long as there was a glimmer of hope they'd play with you.
Annalyse Joy, slow down, kay? I'm having fun right now and want to keep you at this stage for a while longer. Try not to learn too many things this coming month and pretty please don't develop strong opinions or attitudes alright? Great. Glad we settled that!

  4. She's getting so big! Can't believe she's a walking toddler now! So beautiful and precious! She actually reminds me of Alaina at that age. How time flies! Thanks for posting pics without letting everyone know about the aunt who sent the bday present one month late. :)
