Day of Fun

The temps have been in the mid 80's so we've kicked the outdoor fun into high gear again.

This morning we headed to Carowinds for several hours and stayed until my fingers were swollen, my stomach was growling, and I was sweaty and hot. Mind you, the boys wanted to stay longer and sobbed when we left, but an 8-month pregnant mama can only do so much. At least that's what I'm telling myself so I don't feel so bad about leaving after only a few hours.

We stopped to watch a children's show and much to our surprise, Grady Lee wanted to sit on the ground up front and close to the stage. Seriously?! The kid who is shyer than shy?! He thought it was hysterical when water sprayed from the ceiling, when a marshmallow gun shot the audience, and when the main actor did pretty much anything silly.

Micah, however, stuck close to Dad and ate his snack. He didn't feel like getting up close and personal with Mr. Crazy and the marshmallows.

I opted not to ride the mini-roller coaster today, which meant that Grady Lee had to ride alone so that Grady could ride with Micah. Grady Lee didn't even bat an eye and climbed right in. He was tough stuff pulling up the rear of the train, hanging on tight, but smiling the entire time.

Despite the seemingly pouting face, Micah thinks flying the airplanes is super fun. Since the crowds were light, the boys rode again and again.

And what's a great ending to a great day? Ice cream, of course!
