Heaven Help Me

What do you do when you're puking all day and it's raining outside? Well, I can't exactly run back and forth crashing dump trucks (yes, this is usually how I spend much of my time), and I can't send the boys outside to play (actually, I suppose I could, but then I'm just asking for them to get sick and that would only add to the problem.) So, here's how our day played out:

Watched way too much TV. My "only-one-hour-of-TV-a-day-rule" went out the window.

Let machines do the dinner cooking for me.

Ventured to McDonald's just to get out of the house - and because I feel horribly guilty for not being able to play with my boys.

Enjoyed the aroma of freshly baked cookies. (Store-bought refrigerator dough cookies count as freshly baked, right?)

Allowed the boys to go crazy with finger paint.

And now the boys are in bed and this pregnant Mamma is close behind. I figure if I'm sleeping then I can't be puking, so it's an early bedtime for me.

As a side note, has anyone else been sick in the bathroom while listening to one toddler yell from the kitchen, "I need more juuiicceeee!" again and again; while another toddler is yelling, "Mommy, you okay? You have sickies in your tummy, huh? Is the baby being naughty?" Seriously - can't a girl just puke in silence for once?!

  1. Is it wrong that I had to cover my mouth with my hands to keep from laughing too hard? Seriously, I HEART your sense of humor! Here's hoping you can puke in peace tomorrow! But I can totally relate to the part of being "locked" in the bathroom & listening to a play-by-play outside the door! Yesterday Jeff got home at such a time & Darcy slid the mail under the bathroom door to me, "Look Mommy! Mail Mommy!!!" LOL!
    Hang in there sweet one!

  2. Awwww....Sarah----I am so sorry you are feeling so bad. It's so hard when Mommy is sick. I pray this will pass VERY quickly and you can get back to doing all the things you do so well.

It won't be very long and you will be holding that sweet baby. Hold on to that thought!!!
