Christmas

Christmas! The most wonderful time of year.

This year we enjoyed an unusually quiet week of Christmas at home. Nana came to visit for a few days and it was special to have her join us - lots of baking, games, and movies.
Christmas Eve... candlelight service at church, new Christmas jammies, and a buffet of appetizers during a Christmas movie.
Christmas Day... sleeping in until 8:00 (!!), stockings, scavenger hunt, breakfast and Happy Birthday to Jesus, Luke 2, opening gifts, assembling and playing with gifts, and homemade pizzas for dinner.

I was intentional to set my camera down for most of the day - wanting instead to be fully present.
Christmas evening we did something new this year. We made hot chocolate, buried ourselves under blankets, and rode in the back of the truck admiring Christmas lights. And, for a fun highlight, we surprised a few friends by stopping to sing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas!"
Matthew 1:21 "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

O Holy Night - Adolphe Adam
O holy night, the starts are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth.
The thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the angel voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night divine
O night, O night divine
